  I bought one of these suits three years ago in the UK. I swim 3x a week (on average) in chlorinated pools, so this suit has seen chlorine something like 500 times. Yet it still looks just fine. In the past my suits have lasted a year at most, before becoming unusable.The reason for this amazing longevity is that the "Endurance+" suit material contains NO lycra. Lycra (spandex) is the stuff added to nylon suits to keep them stretchy. Unfortunately, chlorine destroys it, and this manifests itself in the form of sagging, bubbling suits with little white fibers where the lycra has perished. So what is "Endurance+"? It's polyester. Yep, nothing big, nothing special. It's actually a blend of two types of polyester, but other manufacturers make similar blends. The secret is that it contains no lycra but is still stretchy.Speedo knows about the lycra problem. They offer another solution called "XtraLife" or something like that.   Let the swim begin!

  Bought these beacuse i have been starting to log a lot of hours in the pool at the local Y, trying to train for my first triathlon. Wearing standard board shorts I was told by a former triathlete is like carrying around a parachute in the water and to get something to last cause the chlorine will eventually eat through anything. So i picked out the Endurance+. At first when i got this out of the box, i thought that there was no way that it could fit beacuse compared to the board shorts i normally wear these are tiny and they don't really stretch much either. Much to my surprise, after a little "repackaging" they fit very well and were actually comfortable. The square cut seems to give it a little added modesty and its black so nothing really shows although its not for the bashful. I'm normally a 36, and took the advice and got one size up, and it seems to work well.   I am very pleased and impressed with the suit. This is a great alternative to the previous designs that are frankly embarrassing for us old guys to wear in public.   I always wear XL in men's swim suits, I tried this in XL and in XXL and the XL was about 6 inches too small at the waste and the XXL was at least 3 inches too small.   I ordered a Large which according to the sizing chart is supposed to fit a 36-38 waist. In every other swim suit I've ever worn this is the size I wear.Well this arrived and it barely fit around my legs, and is incredibly tight.   I bought these to wear during a mud race. I wanted something with a zip pocket that would dry easily and with an above the knee length. I was very pleased with the quality, durability and fit of these. You can use these as a bathing suit too, and just let them dry quickly to get away with as a pair of shorts. I like having two side pockets, a zip back pocket and a open side pocket. The open side pocket is long and thin, suitable for a flashlight, or a pen/marker.   I bought these shorts for swimming in a pool daily. I've had them over a month, and they've been rinsed, washed, and dried regularly in that time--well made and high quality. The pockets are plentiful, and will be handy when I get back to kayaking after winter is over. Very comfortable and lightweight. Perfect length--not a Speedo type brief, but also not a board short.   4/18/13 Update -- vs. TYR

  So far in 13 months I have gone through 3 Speedos (2 lycra and 1 polyester -- the "endurance"). My expectation was that I could find a jammer that lasts me a year since my old-style bathing suits lasted 2-3 years. My expectation was obviously flawed based on these Speedo jammers and unusally high number of miles I swim. Thus, I'll let you decide if these pass the test:Swimming Obsession: 6-7 days per week, 2 miles minimum per day, up to 8 miles per day in December competition. Thus, in understandable terms, typically 1 to 1.5 hours per day with December sessions between 3-5 hours. So, in 13 months, an estimated 575 hours, I went through 3 suits. Probably I should have retired the lycra suits earlier, but since they were staying together (stitching), a towel over the suit to hide the bare areas where the suit deteriorated extended them a bit. However, the stitching on the endurance turned white and then disappeared and separated.   Good, well-made jammers. True to size! Unfortunately, I listened to comments about other speedo jammers that all advised to get 2 sizes up. I am between 34 and 36 and went for size 38. They were definitely too big once wet. Problems with previous suits included colors fading, elastic becoming brittle, and trunks that do not fit my legs tightly so they slow my swim.These trunks overcome all of those problems.   A bit snug

  I picked up this swimsuit to train for an upcoming sprint triathlon. I must say that going from a pair of baggy surfer jammers to these made quite a difference in speed. I have only used them 5 times in the past 2 weeks, so I cannot make comment on durability, but I will update the report later on. In terms of fit, I usually wear a pair of size 32 pants (jeans or khakis) and they are usually a bit loose (so I'm more of a size 31). I bought a size 32 swimsuit and it fits just about right at the waist, but the bottom of the swimsuit just above the knees is a bit too snug. It's snug enough where I'm always fiddling with the leg openings whenever I stop swimming. I would recommend buying 1 size up from what you would normally wear in order to avoid this. Otherwise, it looks great and really made me much speedier.   I swim 3-4 days a week and purchased this to replace my triathlon suit for regular training. The material and constuction is very high in quality. I've had it for about 2 months and it shows no signs of wear. I like that it has additional internal material in the front so that it's less revealing. It's made of nylon rather than spandex so it's more rugged but yet has enough flexibility to be comfortable when swimming or even stretching. I purchased the black/blue color and it looks excellent, even stylish. I'd wear these to the beach too. The fit is true to size. I'm 6'1", 180lbs and wear 32 size pants but my waist actually measures 35" and my thighs are 25". I purchased an XL/36 and it fits perfectly.   The Speedo Roofer has pockets

  John, what you want is the Speedo Roofer, Style number 7320167. It has two normal front pants-type pockets and a right rear hidden zip pocket, perfect for a drivers license, credit card and perhaps a bit of cash wrapped around it.Otherwise the style is nearly identical to this one. The store that sounds like a 1 cent coin used to stock it every year, but this year they're carrying something a little longer.Update: Now the Rally V Volley is the Speedo Trunk with two front pockets and a zipped back pocket. The Roofer has been discontinued. I think the Volley is 1" longer than the Roofer (19" vs. 18", sigh.) Why do folks think that shorts should hang down to the knees?Dec. 10, 2012 Update: The Rally or Rally Volley, both style number 7840110 is now the model with two front pockets and a zipped rear pocket.   This suit is sized correctly. I'm glad that I did not order a size larger as was suggested elsewhere for Speedo suits. It is not the "longs" that go to the knees or below that younger guys seem to think of as shorts. I'm 66 years old and remember when shorts were indeed shorts! Remember what basketball shorts used to look like! Now they're almost basketball pants - not much shorter than the warm-ups!   I ordered these shorts in size Med in the Classic Blue color. I received the item only 2 days after placing the order. The color of these shorts is very nice, we didn't get the black due to the heat of wearing black in the summer. However, the construction of these shorts leaves a lot to be desired. I expected much much more from a name brand company like Speedos.First, the shorts aren't as short as I expected them to be. Measured from the waist to the bottom of the leg is 14 3/4" on the outside of the leg and 16" on the inside.(I bought these because they are short for unrestricted swimming. However I did expect to have to hem them a little for my husband). He is 5'6" and they are mid-thigh on him. This part wasn't a big deal since I already expected to have to hem them.The worst part about these shorts is that they are quite baggy in the butt area and the legs. (at least twice what is needed).   I got tired of the drag of traditional bathing suit during lap swim, so purchased this tighter fitting suit. Not a fan of the 'speedo look' so this long legged version was a good compromise.As other reviewers have mentioned the suit sizes small. Size 30 waist jeans are a little loose on me so I ordered a 30 waist trunk. When I got the suit it was tight in the waist and in the bottom of the legs (hoping the elastic there will loosen a little with time).   I normally wear a size 32 in pants, and after reading other reviews on Amazon I order these in a size 34. Originally they fit great and were not too tight.   Love them

  They are the best swim trunks I have ever had and certainly the best board shorts I have worn. They have a nice pocket in the back to keep a room key or something in.   The following reviews are fairly well on target. These are made of rather light material; but not see-thru. If you have an extreme sense of modesty or wish not to be noticed, it would be a good idea to get a bulkier, larger bathing suit. That being said they are in no way immodest and I'd imagine look good on most bods. It would be hard to believe anyone less than say 140 pounds would need a medium, so think large. They don't drag at all and have a bit of leg length for those who are beyond racing suits.   Took swimsuit on trip to the beach, and it worked out good. A bit shorter than most others you'll see on the beach, but I expected that... not much different than wearing a pair of running shorts. Reading other reviews that advised to buy the next size up, I purchased a large, but would've preferred the medium (like the sizing chart suggested).
